Here Are the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N's Coolest Performance Upgrades

Have a better look at the Ioniq 5 N, which has 641 horsepower and a lot of other changes to the engine and chassis.

The new 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N was just shown off at the 2023 L.A. Auto Show. This is the first time we’ve seen this high-performance EV in U.S. trim. We already know the Ioniq 5 N’s basic specs and have driven it on a racetrack. Now we’ll get into the specifics of this new model, which will hit U.S. stores in March 2024.

Hyundai’s performance section says there will be more electric models in the future, but the 2025 Ioniq 5 N is the first one to carry the high-performance N badge.

The Ioniq 5 N is much more powerful than the regular model, which only has two electric motors that produce 320 horsepower. It has two motors that produce 641 horsepower.

The front rotors on the Ioniq 5 N are 15.8 inches and the back rotors are 14.2 inches. Hyundai says it has the strongest brakes the company has ever made.

Hyundai says that the Ioniq 5 N has better heat protection when it’s being driven on a track, which means that the electric motors are less likely to lose power.

The outside has many design-enhancing features, including black trim that stands out and a back spoiler that looks like wings.

The basic Ioniq 5 is 0.8 inches taller, 2 inches wider, and 3.2 inches longer than the Ioniq 5 N.

The N has a single-speed direct-drive transmission like the standard model. However, it has a “e-shift” feature that is meant to make it feel like an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission in an ICE car. It does this by matching downshifts to engine speed and making fake shift noises.

With the e-shift and N Active Sound+, Hyundai wants to make the car more interesting by making the engine sounds more like an ICE.

The IONIQ 5 N’s interior is designed to be used on a racetrack. The center panel has knee pads that are meant to support the driver during turns, and the seat backs and sliding armrest keep the driver in place.

For the first time, the N logo is on the newly designed steering wheel, which also has N buttons that let you choose the drive mode you want.
