The Jeep Wrangler Can Tow More Than Ever—There’s Just One Problem

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler’s towing capacity is as much as 5000 pounds

The four-door Jeep Wrangler looks like it could pull a trailer on paper.

After all, it’s a body-on-frame truck with strong wheels and a range of strong engines.

But until the 2023 model year, the Wrangler could never pull more than 3,500 pounds, which is about the same as a mid-size SUV.

It’s because the suspension is set up to be flexible off-road rather than stiff for pulling a trailer.

But with the new full-floating rear axle in the 2024 Rubicon models, Jeep was able to give some powertrains a tow value of 5,000 pounds.
