Check out this new list of the best GM electric cars, which combines innovation with road performance for a greener drive experience.
General Motors hasn’t wasted any time putting its electric Ultium platform to work. It now offers a wide range of electric goods, including trucks, crossovers, and sedans. Along with the Bolt EV and EUV, these new versions add to GM’s selection of electric vehicles (EVs) at a range of price points, especially between $30,000 and $60,000. GM’s phrase “EVs for everyone” is backed up by this wide range of models, which are meant to meet the wants and preferences of a wide range of customers.
One big thing that works in GM’s favor is that it has been working on the Ultium electric car platform since 2018. This flexible base can support a lot of different vehicle types and sizes, from small cars to big trucks like the Hummer EV. This shows that GM’s electric vehicles are ready to meet a wide range of market needs. This is the big question: which of its new and current types is the best? There isn’t a simple answer because each one meets different needs and wants. However, this list makes it clear how its electric range should be ranked, from worst to best, based on all of these factors.
The Chevrolet Bolt EV
The Bolt EV may be the least expensive GM electric car model, but it’s getting old and has had a problem with its battery pack catching fire for a long time. Because of this problem, Chevy recalled the Bolt range, which was kind of a fix.
With an estimated 109 MPGe gas mileage and a range of only 259 miles, the Bolt EV is still a good choice for city driving. Its lower speed and small cabin and cargo space are both things that work against it. Before the Equinox EV comes out, the Bolt will only be on the market for a short time.
The Chevrolet Bolt EUV
While the Bolt EUV has some of the same problems as the hatch, it does have more room inside, a slightly smoother ride, and a little more versatility. Because it is bigger, the electric crossover is a little slower and heavier than the hatch.
In due time, the Equinox EV will also take the place of the EUV range, so it won’t be available for another year or so. It is still a pretty good EV to think about, but only if the battery problem can be ignored. This may be too important for many customers to ignore, which is a shame. There are rumors that Chevrolet might want to bring back the Bolt name for its second step of rolling out electric cars.
Hummer EV SUV from GMC
For people who want the best off-road skills of any electric SUV, the GMC Hummer EV SUV is the only choice. Many fans are happy that GM brought back this famous badge because of its powerful triple-motor drivetrain, crabwalking abilities, and other features.
Even though the Hummer is amazing, it is ultimately a niche product because it is so big. People who live in cities might find it hard to use this as their daily car, and it uses a lot of energy in comparison to other SUV EVs on the market.
The Chevrolet Equinox EV
The Chevrolet Equinox EV is looking like it will be GM’s electric car for people because it has a low price, a flexible interior, and a number of engine choices. The base model will have an all-wheel drive system with a single motor, while higher-end trims will have a system with two motors. A range of LT and RS trims also make for an appealing range of affordable and high-end options.
If you want to buy an electric car this year, the Equinox should be at the top of your list. A lot of people are interested in seeing if Chevy can land the deal and compete with cars like the Tesla Model Y.
